I’ve taken several classes at Avalon Wellness Center and they have all been fantastic. Infant CPR & Care Class was really helpful to review while pregnant. Essential Oils for Mommy & Me with Hanina Osborn was AMAZING - I’m hooked! She is such a great resource. I’m also a big fan of the Friday Mommy & Me Meet-up group! Thank you Avalon for being such a great resource!
I’ve been enjoying the Mindful Mama Yoga class at Avalon Wellness Center for several weeks in my third trimester - so glad this class is offered! Nicole’s thoughtful themes and creative sequences always make me feel so much better - on both an emotional and a physical level. Physically, she always seems to know what modification will help me experience the pose in a more beneficial way. Emotionally, she offers compelling perspectives that help me reframe my narrative. Nicole is also hilarious and a seasoned mama of four, so I appreciate her telling it how it is! I wholeheartedly recommend Nicole’s class to any mama - and I look forward to joining after our little one’s arrival!
I truly owe it to your Pregnancy & Birth Essential Oils class & deep blue/lemon grass for getting me through some intense back labor. I was on the brink of asking for pain medication when I remembered the oils I had with me and they were a life savor! It was literally just enough instant relief to get me through transition. We then had a rough start to breastfeeding which we are still working through but my supply is on the rise after using oils as well. I really mean it when I say we are so so grateful for that class and these oils! & I am so happy that they arrived in time! Thank you Hanina!
We started off this pregnancy barely knowing anything of what to expect or how to prepare for childbirth. We just knew we wanted it to be as natural as possible. We were hesitant to go the traditional hospital route after doing our own research and the experience we had meeting with the midwives at Avalon...there was just something so unique and special about that place. Laura’s workshop was a miracle to me because it was purely focused on achieving a natural birth and looking after the whole person, both mother and baby. This is exactly what I was hoping for in my own birth experience. Laura brought a touch of humor to every class, she made it fun and engaging. She brought wisdom from her many years of experience. She brought calming empowerment. She brought earnest advice and encouraged us to bond as a couple before this life changing event. We would absolutely attend the workshop over again because of the immediate value it brought to us at the birth of our first baby boy! Thank you Laura!
I attended Jennifer Watt’s Mindful Birth workshop before the birth of my third baby. Jen helped me to find the right mindset after having my daughter only a year and a half earlier. I was scared about bringing a baby home to my little toddler and being a good mom to two babies with different needs. Jen helped me to focus on my conscious breath, how to make it deep and rhythmic, which helped my anxiety immensely. We practiced lots of great postures to help my baby get into optimal birthing position and to alleviate some discomfort in pregnancy and labor. She also helped me to become more mindful of each one of my five senses and to think about how I would use each one to keep myself calm and relaxed through labor and delivery. I have to say, IT WORKED! On July 29th, 2018 I had my baby boy with no medical intervention what so ever! Thank you Jen!
Without the weekly breastfeeding support group, I may not still be nursing my 4 month old daughter. Even when I wasn’t having issues with nursing, the moral support of the group and the connections made there were invaluable. If you are looking for a place to ask questions, make mommy friends, vent, cry, laugh, and just a way to get out of the house with your baby, this is it!! Allyson is amazingly supportive and knowledgeable. So thankful for Laid Back Lactation!
I learned so much from Caitlin’s “Baby’s First Foods” class! I was surprised at how very fascinating and captivating the entire class was and how many of the things I thought I knew about feeding were inaccurate. What an interesting and very informative class taught by a very intelligent, knowledgeable, and personable lady! Thank you Caitlin!
I took a Mindful Birth workshop with Jen and loved it! She was so helpful in breathing techniques, positive affirmations, and just growing my confidence in listening to my body during labor and delivery. As a first-time mom, I highly recommend this workshop!
Kim, Thank you so much for giving such an extensively informative, enjoyable (and humorous) 1-Day Childbirth Education Class. The time flew by for me and I really valued all of the insight you had to offer. It was also really refreshing to hear about the process of labor and birth from a perspective of calmness, positivity and authority - I find that reading articles on sites like “The Bump” were starting to make me feel bad about the upcoming experience because their tone and perspective on the matter was becoming way too trendy and conversational to the point where every part of the birth experience started feeling like they were constantly apologizing that all of these terrible things would happened to me. I started to feel like a “thing” rather than a dignified woman about to partake in a miracle. Thankfully, you restored that for me, and I am relying on the information from the class and resources like “Evidence Based Birth” as my go-to for quality answers from now on. So thank you so very much for reawakening my excitement and peacefulness for all that is to come!Thanks!
